Why Richmond?
Richmond is a city on the rise, and that’s why we’re excited to work together with local leaders to bring this project to Richmond. There is a lot of growth throughout the city and the region, and this investment will help continue to spur additional investment and growth in our community. The Richmond Grand will create 1,300 permanent careers that pay a good wage that can support a family and $30 million in revenue each and every year to build a stronger, safer city.
How many jobs do we expect the Richmond Grand to generate?
Once opened, the Richmond Grand will offer 1,300 new good-paying union careers that help to provide a pathway to the middle class with a minimum $40,000 starting salary and an average of more than $55,000 in annual compensation, including benefits like employer-paid health care, dental, and retirement savings. In addition, thousands of union jobs will be created during the construction phase, allowing Richmonders of all education levels and experience levels to begin a lucrative career in the building trades with this exciting project.
How much will this project cost?
This is a half-billion dollar investment–one of the largest in Richmond in decades– entirely funded by private companies and does not include any incentives, tax breaks, or public funds. Richmonders will not pay a single penny for this project. In fact, the Richmond Grand will create 1,300 permanent well-paying jobs and generate $30 million in annual tax revenue for investments in Richmond schools and safety.
Is this project just a casino?
Richmond Resort and Casino is so much more! Richmond Grand Resort and Casino will include a luxury 250-room hotel, resort-style amenities including a luxury spa, state-of-the-art fitness center, an outdoor pool and cabanas to relax and lounge, and a huge outdoor space to host farmers market and community events, walking trails, and pickleball. Richmond Grand Resort and Casino will also feature convention space, 15 new bars and restaurants, including local favorites, music venues large enough to host national acts, and high-tech film and production space. And, of course, there is a spacious, high-end gaming floor with card games and table games like poker, blackjack, craps, and roulette, a high-limit room for high rollers, fun and exciting slots of all prices, and an onsite sportsbook so you can get in on the action with your favorite teams and leagues. That is–if you can pull yourself away from the pool and cabanas!
